Animalia is Graeme Base's classic Australian alphabet book, first published in 1986 and sold more than five million times since. This is the 40th anniversary edition: the same much-loved book, in a hardback with a foiled cover, made to keep.
Each letter of the alphabet gets its own richly detailed, alliterative illustration, and hidden in every picture are dozens of other things beginning with that letter. It works as a first alphabet book for little ones and as a seek-and-find puzzle for older kids and adults, which is a big part of why it has lasted.
A beautiful gift edition of an Australian classic, for readers of any age. Note this is the original 1986 book with new foil treatment, not new material.
