Welcome to the Peninsula Records and Books FAQ. Below, you can find answers to common questions about our products, shipping, orders, and more.


Where is Peninsula Records and Books located?

We are an online store based in Adelaide, SA, and we offer free delivery within 15km of the Adelaide CBD. Additionally, we will open our first physical store on the Yorke Peninsula in March 2025, where customers will be able to collect orders in person.


Do you have a physical store?

Not yet, but our first physical store is set to open in March 2025 on the Yorke Peninsula. Once open, you will be able to collect your orders from there. Stay tuned for more updates!


Can I pick up my order?

Starting in March 2025, you will be able to pick up your orders from our Yorke Peninsula location. Until then, we offer free delivery within 10km of the Southern Suburbs. Please select this option at checkout if you’re eligible.


What types of products do you sell?

We sell brand new books, vinyl records, puzzles, and games. All products available online are brand new and carefully selected to provide our customers with the best quality.


Do you focus on Australian authors?

Yes! We are passionate about supporting Australian talent, which is why we exclusively sell books from Australian authors. If you are a self-published author, we welcome you to email us with book information or any wholesale offers at info@peninsularecordsandbooks.com


Do you invite reviews?

Yes, we invite both book and album reviews from our community, which may be published on our website at our discretion. If you’d like to submit a review, please email us at info@peninsularecordsandbooks.com.


Do you attend markets or pop-ups?

Yes, we plan to attend pop-up events and local markets. If you'd like us to attend your event, please send us an email at info@peninsularecordsandbooks.com with the details.


Do you buy second-hand or used records?

Yes, we buy second-hand or used records for sale in-store. If you’re interested in selling your collection, please email us at info@peninsularecordsandbooks.com for more information.


Are all items listed as available actually in stock?

Yes, all items listed on our website are in stock unless marked as Pre-order or Backorder. If an item is out of stock, it will be labeled as such. In rare cases of a stock miscount, we will notify you promptly with alternative options.


How do I track my order?

Once your order is dispatched, you will receive a tracking number via email. You can use this tracking number on the Australia Post website to follow your order’s journey. If you haven't received the tracking email, please check your spam/junk folder or contact us for assistance.


How long will my delivery take?

Delivery times vary depending on your location and the shipping method selected:

  • Standard Shipping: 2-8 business days
  • Express Shipping: 1-3 business days (metro areas)

Will my items be safe during shipping?

Yes! We use specially designed packaging to ensure your books, vinyl records, puzzles, and games arrive safely. All items are carefully packed to prevent damage. For vinyl, we use strong cardboard mailers to avoid bent corners, and for books and puzzles, we use protective wrapping. We also mark all packages as FRAGILE to reduce handling risks.


Can I return an item?

If your item arrives damaged or defective, please follow our Refund & Return Policy. We comply with the ACCC's consumer guarantee, and we’ll happily assist you with a replacement or refund. For change-of-mind returns, conditions apply, and a restocking fee may be charged. Please refer to our refund policy for full details.


What shipping options do you offer?

We offer the following shipping options through Australia Post:

  • Express Shipping Books: $7 per item, free on orders over $100.
  • Express Shipping Vinyl & Others: $15 per item, free on orders over $100.

What if I haven't received my order?

First, check your tracking details via the link provided in your shipping confirmation email. If your order is overdue or shows as delivered but you cannot locate it, please contact Australia Post to initiate a search. If needed, we can assist you in filing a claim.


What if my pre-order item hasn’t arrived?

Pre-order release dates are subject to change due to delays from suppliers. We update our website with the most current information and will notify you if there’s an issue with your pre-order. For more information, visit our Pre-Order Policy page.


How do I make changes to an order I’ve just placed?

If you need to modify your order (e.g., shipping address, product change), please contact us immediately. Changes can only be made before the order is dispatched.


Why do vinyl prices vary?

Vinyl record prices fluctuate based on supplier costs, international shipping fees, and currency exchange rates. We source from reputable suppliers in Australia an overseas and we strive to offer competitive prices while maintaining product quality. 


What payment options do you accept?

We currently accept the following payment options:

  • VISA
  • Mastercard
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

How long are gift cards valid?

Our gift cards are valid for 3 years from the date of purchase.


Why haven’t I received my gift card?

Gift cards are sent digitally via email after purchase. If you don’t see it in your inbox, please check your junk/spam folder. If it's still missing, contact us, and we’ll resend it to you.


Do you offer gift wrapping?

We currently do not offer gift wrapping, but stay tuned for future updates as we look to provide this service around special occasions.


Do you offer a Teacher Discount?

Yes, we offer a 5% Teacher Discount across our entire site. Teachers must register to receive this discount. Once registered, the discount will be applied automatically at checkout.


How can I stay updated on new releases or promotions?

You can subscribe to our newsletter to receive updates on new book and vinyl releases, special promotions, and exclusive offers. Sign up on our homepage to stay in the loop!


Is this your first time buying vinyl?

If you’re new to vinyl, building a collection can be exciting but overwhelming. We recommend checking out our vinyl bundles, which are specially curated to help you get started. Vinyl requires special care, so make sure you have a turntable with adjustable features like anti-skate and counterweight to avoid skipping. For more information, check out our Vinyl Care Guide.


Can you help me find a book or vinyl that’s not listed on your site?

Yes, if you're looking for a specific book or vinyl that’s not available on our site, send us an email with the details, and we’ll do our best to locate it for you.


Can I be notified when an out-of-stock item is available again?

Yes! You can sign up for email notifications on product pages for any item marked as Backorder or Pre-order, and we’ll alert you as soon as it’s available.
