About Peninsula Records and Books

Who is behind Peninsula Records and Books? Kate and Neil Williams. Both are book and music lovers with a genuine passion for community, small business, and taking the time to enjoy things properly. They live and work in Stansbury full-time.

Where is Peninsula Records and Books located? We are based in Stansbury on the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia. Our shopfront is at 11 Weaver Street, Stansbury SA 5582. Open Saturday to Tuesday, 10am to 3pm (closed June 2026). All online orders are packed and dispatched from Stansbury. ABN 89 271 979 729.

Do you have a physical store? Yes. We are a green garage at 11 Weaver Street, Stansbury, on the Yorke Peninsula. Open Saturday to Tuesday, 10am to 3pm (closed June 2026). Up to date hours are on our Store Location page. Worth putting on your itinerary.

Do you dropship? No. Every item listed on our website is physically in stock at our Stansbury location and ships from there. We are an independent Australian record and book shop, not a reseller or middleman.

What types of products do you sell? Brand new vinyl records, books across all genres, games, puzzles, and gifts. We also stock second-hand vinyl in store only. All online listings are brand new unless otherwise noted.

Do you stock Australian authors? Yes. Our book range is a mix of Australian and international authors, from debut voices to legendary names. We are not accepting submissions from self-published authors at this time.

Do you buy second-hand or used records? Yes, for sale in store. If you would like to sell your collection, email kate@peninsularecordsandbooks.com.

Do you attend markets or pop-ups? Yes. If you would like us to attend your event, email kate@peninsularecordsandbooks.com with the details.

Stock and ordering

Are all items listed as available actually in stock? Yes. Every item shown as available on our website is physically in stock at our Stansbury shop and ready to dispatch. Items marked Pre-order or Backorder will have an estimated availability date. In the rare event of a stock miscount, we will contact you within one business day with options.

Can I be notified when an out-of-stock item is available again? Yes. Sign up for email notifications on the product page of any item marked Backorder or Pre-order, and we will alert you as soon as it is available.

Can you help me find something not listed on your site? Yes. Email us with the title, artist or author, and any edition details, and we will do our best to source it for you.

How do I make changes to an order I have just placed? Email kate@peninsularecordsandbooks.com immediately. Changes can only be made before the order is dispatched. We dispatch daily at 1pm Monday to Friday.

Shipping and delivery

Where do you ship from? All orders ship from our Stansbury shop on the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia.

What shipping options do you offer? Express Shipping Australia-wide via Australia Post, $9.95 per shipment. Free Express Shipping on orders over $99.

How long will my delivery take? Express Shipping is 1-4 business days to metro areas. Regional and remote areas may take a little longer. Orders placed before 5pm Monday to Friday dispatch the next day. Peak periods such as November, December, Stocktake or Record Store Day may add a day or two.

How do I track my order? You will receive a tracking number by email when your order is dispatched. Track it on the Australia Post website. If you cannot find the email, check your spam folder, or email us and we will resend it.

Will my items be safe during shipping? Yes. Vinyl ships in rigid cardboard mailers designed to prevent bent corners. Books and puzzles are protectively wrapped. All packages are marked FRAGILE. Damage in transit is rare and we replace or refund any item that arrives damaged.

What if my order arrives with a minor imperfection? Our vinyl and physical media is brand new but is sourced from Australian and International distributors. Once in a while an item may arrive with a small imperfection caused during transit or manufacturing, such as a seam split, a corner ding, light sleeve creasing, or another minor cosmetic mark. These are rare, affect the sleeve only, and do not affect the vinyl or playback in any way. If you receive an item with any imperfection, please email us and we will assess each case individually.

What if I have not received my order? Check your tracking link first. If your order is overdue or shows as delivered but you cannot find it, contact Australia Post to initiate a search. Email us if you need help and we will assist with a claim.

What if my pre-order item has not arrived? Pre-order release dates can shift due to supplier delays. We update the website with the latest information and will email you if there is a problem with your pre-order. See our Pre-Order Policy for full details.

Returns and refunds

Can I return an item? If your item arrives damaged or defective, we will replace or refund it under the ACCC consumer guarantee. For change-of-mind returns, conditions and a restocking fee may apply. Full details are on our Refund Policy page.

Why do vinyl prices vary? Vinyl prices reflect supplier costs, international shipping, and currency exchange rates. We source from reputable suppliers in Australia and overseas, and we work to keep our pricing competitive while protecting product quality.

Gift cards and gift wrapping

How long are gift cards valid? Three years from the date of purchase.

Why have I not received my gift card? Gift cards are sent by email immediately after purchase. Check your spam folder first. If it is still missing, email us and we will resend it.

Do you offer gift wrapping? Yes. Every order is packed with care, and we include a handwritten note on request. If you would like a personal message added, leave it in the order notes at checkout.

New to vinyl?

Is this your first time buying vinyl? Welcome. A few starting tips: make sure your turntable has adjustable anti-skate and counterweight to protect your records, store records vertically away from heat, and clean them with a carbon fibre brush before each play. Email us if you have specific questions about a record or your setup.

How can I stay updated on new releases or promotions? Subscribe to our newsletter from the homepage for updates on new vinyl and book releases, pre-orders, and exclusive offers.

Do you invite reviews? Yes, both book and album reviews from our community. Email kate@peninsularecordsandbooks.com with your review and we may publish it on our blog.
