Peninsula Records & Books - Pre-Order Policy
What is a pre-order?
A pre-order lets you reserve selected upcoming books and vinyl records that are not yet released. We open pre-orders approximately 2 to 3 weeks before the official release date and we ship on the release date, not earlier.
Minimum order quantities for pre-orders
- Vinyl: maximum 1 copy per order.

Books: maximum 4 copies of the same title per order to support book clubs.
If you need more than 4 copies for a club or school, contact us and we can help after release.
Payment methods on pre-orders
- We accept the payment methods shown at checkout.

Afterpay on pre-orders: Afterpay requires goods to be deliverable within 14 days of purchase unless a merchant has explicit approval for Extended Delivery Goods and discloses the longer delivery window at checkout. Because our pre-orders usually ship 14 to 21 days after purchase, Afterpay is unavailable on pre-orders by default.
- If a title will dispatch within 14 days or we have written approval for Extended Delivery, we will clearly mark that item as Afterpay eligible on the product page.
When we take payment
Payment is captured at checkout to secure your allocation. If we cannot supply your pre-order in full, we will cancel and refund the affected item to your original payment method.
Dispatch and delivery
- Dispatch: on the official release date.
- Mixed carts: if your order includes in-stock items and a pre-order, we will ship all items together on the release date. To receive in-stock items earlier, please place a separate order or contact us to arrange a split shipment for an additional postage charge.
- Click and Collect: available for collection on the release date during store hours. We will email when your order is ready.
Release date and product changes
Publishers and labels may change release dates, cover art, colour variants or track listings. If a change is material and you no longer want the item, you may cancel before dispatch for a full refund.
Cancellations and changes
- You may cancel or change quantities up to 3 business days before the release date. We will refund in full to your original payment method.
- After that cut-off, your order is locked for fulfilment.
Returns and your rights
- Change of mind on pre-orders: not available after dispatch.
- Problems with your item: If a product arrives faulty, damaged in transit, or not as described, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund under the Australian Consumer Law. Please contact us promptly with your order number and photos.
Pricing
Prices are confirmed at checkout. If a supplier error or a clear pricing mistake occurs before release, we will contact you. If you do not approve the correction, we will cancel and refund. Later promotions do not apply retrospectively to existing pre-orders.
Address changes
We can update delivery details up to 3 business days before the release date. After that time we may not be able to amend the address.
Fair purchase policy
To ensure fair access, we may limit quantities and cancel orders that appear to be for resale.
