Assault & Battery followed the band's self-titled debut after two years of touring in Australia, Europe, and the United States, opening for ZZ Top and Aerosmith. Like the debut, it was produced by the Vanda and Young team, best known for their work with AC/DC. The album is harder and more direct than its predecessor, built around slide guitar and Angry Anderson's ragged vocal delivery. Out of This Place, Rock n Roll Is King, and Suicide City are among the standout tracks.
