Title: Primitive Man
Artist: ICEHOUSE
Format: LP
Special: 180gm reissue of the 1982 Australian classic, remastered from original tapes

Originally released in 1982, Primitive Man marked a turning point for ICEHOUSE, blending their new wave roots with lush, radio-ready pop production. This 180gm reissue brings the album back to life with warmth and clarity, from the cinematic sweep of “Great Southern Land” to the shimmering hooks of “Hey, Little Girl”. For Australian music fans, it’s more than nostalgia, it’s a touchstone of the country’s 80s soundscape.

Remastered from the original tapes, this pressing captures Iva Davies’ meticulous arrangements and distinctive vocals in full detail. The album’s mix of atmospheric synths, crisp guitar lines, and layered percussion feels every bit as engaging now as it did four decades ago, making it an essential addition for both ICEHOUSE devotees and new listeners discovering their catalogue.
