A gripping young adult thriller that pays homage to 1990s horror films, exploring friendship, secrets, and survival.

Set in the year 2000, four Year 11 students—Shelley, Mack, Priya, and Raffi—share a cabin during their school's annual retreat in an abandoned Australian town. Each girl carries personal struggles: Shelley is new with a troubled past; Mack is dealing with the aftermath of kissing her best friend; Priya contemplates deepening her relationship with her boyfriend; and Raffi, the dramatic one, suggests holding a séance to contact the ghost of Smiling Jack, rumored to haunt the area. What begins as a daring game quickly escalates into a fight for survival as the girls confront eerie occurrences and their own hidden truths.
