Olivia Dean - Messy (LP)

Messy is the debut album from Olivia Dean, released through EMI in June 2023. The record that put her on the map. Shortlisted for the Mercury Prize that same year, certified gold by the BPI, and peaked at number four on the UK Albums Chart. This is the album she made before the 2026 Grammy win for Best New Artist and the four Brit Awards. It's where the story starts.

UFO, Dive, Danger, The Hardest Part, Carmen. Twelve tracks of UK soul-pop pulling from Motown, neo-soul and contemporary R&B. The closing track Carmen is named for and dedicated to her grandmother, who emigrated from Guyana to the UK at eighteen as part of the Windrush generation. Critics found influences from Amy Winehouse, Carole King and Lauryn Hill running through the record.

Single LP on standard black vinyl, mastered by Matt Colton. Comes with a printed inner sleeve, an A2 poster and a sticker. Pressed in Europe.
