New Order’s Power, Corruption & Lies, released in 1983, marks the band’s shift from post-punk roots toward a more electronic, synth-driven sound. Blending drum machines, sequencers and atmospheric guitars, the album helped shape the direction of alternative music throughout the decade. Although the single “Blue Monday” was issued separately, the album features essential tracks such as “Age of Consent”, “Your Silent Face” and “586”.
