This is the 2014 Mute Records 180g vinyl reissue of The Boatman's Call, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds' 1997 tenth studio album. Cut at Abbey Road Studios from the 2011 remaster, with the vinyl transfer overseen by Mick Harvey. Comes with a colour printed lyric inner sleeve.

The Boatman's Call came out in March 1997 and is the quietest record Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds ever made. It's mostly piano, mostly about loss, and almost entirely written about specific people. Into My Arms is the one that gets played at funerals. People Ain't No Good, West Country Girl and Henry Lee have their own weight. If you've come to Cave through Skeleton Tree or Push the Sky Away and want to go back, this is the natural place to land. If you already know it, the Abbey Road cut on 180g is the way to own it.
