The record is the official soundtrack to the Amazon Prime Video documentary Paul McCartney: Man on the Run, directed by Academy Award-winner Morgan Neville, which premiered the same day.

The twelve tracks span Wings-era McCartney from 1969 to 1979, soundtracking his decade after The Beatles. Three have never appeared on an album before: 'Gotta Sing Gotta Dance' from a 1973 TV special, 'Live and Let Die (Rockshow)' from the 1980 concert film, and 'Arrow Through Me (Rough Mix)' from the 1979 Back to the Egg sessions. For anyone with a McCartney or Wings collection, these three tracks are the reason to own this.

Worth noting: Man on the Run is not a reissue of the 1973 Wings album Band on the Run. It's a new compilation assembled for the documentary, so the track selection is built around the film's story rather than any single studio era. If you already have the Wings studio albums on vinyl, this is the supplement that fills in the documentary gaps and surfaces three recordings you won't find anywhere else.
