Rage Against The Machine - Rage Against The Machine (2015 Reissue LP)

Rage Against The Machine is the 1992 debut that pulled the pin on rap and metal at the same time. Tom Morello's guitar doing things guitars weren't meant to do, Zack de la Rocha spitting lyrics at the American political establishment, and a rhythm section from another dimension in Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford. The album went to number one on the Billboard Heatseekers chart, landed at 45 on the Billboard 200, and has been a permanent fixture on best-debut-albums lists ever since.

Killing In The Name. Bombtrack. Bullet In The Head. Wake Up (the one that closes The Matrix). Know Your Enemy, which features Tool's Maynard James Keenan on additional vocals. Every track here became a touchstone for a generation of angry, politically-aware guitar music, and Killing In The Name famously went to number one on the UK Christmas chart in 2009, twenty years after the album came out.
