Spiderbait - Ivy and the Big Apples (Red & Black Splatter LP, 30th Anniversary Edition)
This is the Universal Music Australia 30th anniversary vinyl LP pressing of Spiderbait's second album, Ivy and the Big Apples, originally released in 1996 on Polydor Records. Red and black splatter vinyl. Each copy is unique. Barcode 0199957539074.
Buy Me a Pony reached number one in triple j's Hottest 100 of 1996, making Spiderbait the first Australian act to top that countdown. Calypso reached number 13 on the ARIA Singles Chart and later appeared in the 1999 film 10 Things I Hate About You. The album debuted at number three on the ARIA Albums Chart, reached 2 times platinum in Australia, and won the 1997 ARIA Award for Best Alternative Release. If that era of Australian alternative rock is already on your shelf, this is one of the records that belongs there.
Splatter vinyl pressings vary between copies by design: the colour distribution of red and black differs with each record. The 30th anniversary artwork and sleeve remain faithful to the 1996 original.
