Hoodoo Gurus - Stoneage Romeos (LP Reissue, Yellow Vinyl)

Stoneage Romeos is the 1984 debut from Sydney's Hoodoo Gurus, released through Big Time Records on 9 March that year. The album that won Best Debut Album at the 1984 Countdown Awards, reached number 24 on the Australian charts, and got the band signed to A&M for a US release later that year. Listed in the top 30 of the 100 Greatest Australian Albums Of All Time book in 2010.

I Want You Back, My Girl, Tojo, Leilani. Four singles pulled from a record that fused garage rock, power pop and 60s psychedelia into something that sounded distinctly Australian. The closing track Let's All Turn On is essentially a manifesto, a roll call of the bands that shaped the Gurus' sound, from the Flaming Groovies and the Ramones through Elvis, the Stones and T-Rex.

This is the 2018 reissue, remastered at Studios 301 in Sydney back in 2004 and pressed on heavyweight yellow vinyl. Released through the Hoodoo Gurus' own Big Time Phonograph imprint, manufactured and distributed by Universal Music Australia.
