This is a 50th anniversary 180g vinyl LP pressing of The Beatles' Abbey Road, with a new stereo mix by Giles Martin and Sam Okell, cut at half speed at Abbey Road Studios. Apple Records. Barcode 602577915123.
The Beatles formed in Liverpool and released twelve studio albums between 1963 and 1970. Abbey Road was recorded between February and August 1969, mostly at EMI Studios on Abbey Road, the street that gave the album its name, with George Martin producing. It was the last album the four of them recorded together, and it went to number one in Australia. For the 50th anniversary, his son Giles Martin went back to the original eight-track session tapes to make this new mix.
