The Beatles are the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed band in the history of popular music. Formed in Liverpool in 1960, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr released 12 studio albums between 1963 and 1970, fundamentally reshaping popular culture. Abbey Road, recorded in the summer of 1969, was their final album recorded together and is widely regarded as their greatest work. The 50th Anniversary edition has been completely remixed by Giles Martin — son of original producer George Martin — working from his father's notes to stay true to the sound and feel of the original.
