The Treasure House is a warm, standalone novel from Amy Matthews, the Adelaide author and Flinders University creative-writing academic who also wrote Someone Else's Bucket List.
Zoe Copeland and her eleven-year-old daughter Florence need a fresh start, and not much money to do it with. What they can afford is a cheap cottage in a seaside town neither of them has heard of, a place stuffed to the rafters with the previous owner's junk. Florence loves it. Zoe is daunted, and her grouchy new neighbour Jake clearly thinks she is mad, though that does not stop him lending a hand.
As they clear the house out, Zoe becomes caught up in the story of Marly, the woman who lived there before, and starts to see her own life reflected in it. Then her own past comes calling.
Uplifting book-club fiction for readers of Jojo Moyes, Tricia Stringer and Tess Woods.
'Full of heart, wisdom and hope, with characters you'll wish were real.' Rachael Johns
