The Wombats are back with Oh! The Ocean, an album that dives deep into emotional honesty while delivering the catchy indie-rock sound they've perfected over two decades. Recorded in Echo Park, LA, with Grammy-winning producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Wallows, Death Cab for Cutie), this record blends infectious melodies with introspective lyrics inspired by frontman Matthew “Murph” Murphy's transformative seaside experience. From their early days with A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation to their viral success with Greek Tragedy, The Wombats continue to evolve, resonating with both loyal fans and a new generation.

Despite their Liverpool roots, The Wombats recorded Oh! The Ocean in LA, and Murph found his greatest inspiration not from the city’s buzz but from a quiet family beach trip. He described it as the first time he truly saw the ocean, sparking the introspective lyrics across the album.
