Tapple – Fast-paced family word game

Tapple is a quick-thinking word game that’s easy to learn and surprisingly tense once the timer starts.

Each round begins with a category. It might be something familiar like “animals” or “things at the beach.” Players take turns calling out answers that fit the category, pressing the first letter on the wheel as they go. Once a letter is used, it’s out for the rest of the round.

The pressure comes from the timer. You have just 10 seconds to think, say your word, and pass it on. If you hesitate or repeat a letter, you’re out for that round.

As the letters disappear, it gets harder to keep up. Simple ideas suddenly feel difficult, and that’s where most of the fun sits.

Rounds are short and easy to reset, so it works well for groups, families, or casual game nights. It’s also simple enough that new players can join in straight away without needing much explanation.

A good option when you want something interactive, a bit lively, and easy to return to.
